STL File Analyzer for 3D Printing

During the quoting process, the STL File Analyzer will analyze your part's statistics. Once this is completed, the analyzer then sends the file statistics, (not your part geometry), to the RedEye RPM server for quoting. When you decide to order, the analyzer then compresses your STL file into a proprietary format and uploads it to our server. The analyzer allows you to obtain quotes for rapid prototypes and manufactured parts through RedEye RPM without anyone seeing your proprietary data. The STL File Analyzer works with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.

You will be prompted to install the STL File Analyzer the first time you quote.

Note: You may also see this STL File Analyzer referred to as a Browser Plug-in, ActiveX Control or RedEyeQuote.cab.

Installation

1. The first time you go to the "Get Your RedEye RPM Quote" screen you will be prompted to install the STL File Analyzer (RedEyeQuote.cab).

A. On most browsers you will see the following pop-up window.

B. On Windows XP with Service Pack 2, you will be prompted with a yellow bar near the top of your browser window.

2. To install with the pop-up window, simply click on Yes and the program will be installed in a matter of seconds.

3. To install on Windows XP with the yellow bar, left click on the yellow bar and select "Install ActiveX Control...". Click on Install in the pop-up window that appears. The program takes only seconds to install.

Benefits of the STL File Analyzer

With the STL File Analyzer installed the "Get Your RedEye RPM Quote" screen will look as follows:

• All files are analyzed on your desktop via the STL File Analyzer. This information, not the STL geometry, is sent to the RedEye RPM server to complete the quotation.
• You can add multiple files at once by using CTRL or SHIFT.
• You can Remove files before going to the RedEye RPM Quote page.

Without the STL File Analyzer installed the "Get Your RedEye RPM Quote" screen will look as follows:

• Browse to add each STL file individually.
• There is a maximum of five files. After going to the quote screen you will have the option to add additional files.
• When clicking on "GET QUOTE", you will be prompted to upload your files to the RedEye RPM server where the quoting program will analyze the files and provide the quotation.
